The opening ceremony of the “Workshop on exchange programs to best policy practice in technology transfer management system and MSMEs innovation in Lancang- Mekong region” of the project “Establishment of Technology Transfer Accelerator Hub for Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Development in Lancang-Mekong Region” implemented with the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund (2021)

was held by Department of Research and Innovation, Ministry of Science and Technology in September 6, 2023 at the Wyndham Grand Hotel in Yangon at 9:30 am. 

In the opening ceremony, U Soe Thein, Prime Minister, Yangon Region Government, Dr. Zheng Zhihong, Minister Counselor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Daw Khin Moe Htoo, Director, Department of Subregional Cooperation Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs gave opening remarks. Yangon Region government member ministers, ambassadors of Myanmar's Mekong countries, departmental representatives, representatives from the Mekong-Lancang countries and the invited guests attended the opening ceremony.

The Mekong-Lancang cooperation will promote cross-border trade for all Mekong countries. The workshop was held in 2023 September 6 to 7 for two days with the aims to strengthen cooperation in production capacity, to develop small and medium enterprises, to provide technical assistance to start-ups and entrepreneurs to strengthen industrial competitiveness and productivity.

Through the workshop, it will strengthen regional cooperation and the connection between the government and the industry sector by learning and exchange the best practices of technology transfer management that are currently being used in China and the Mekong region, accelerating technology transfer and technical assistance to small and medium enterprises.
