Technology Transfer as Human Resource Development
(Short Term Course Training)

It is one month training course and instantly started to open. In this training, the trainees will be taught by using recent fabricated units and equipments from renewable energy research department and supporting department. This training will give the knowledge and technologies of fabricating, installing, operating and maintenance in theoretically and practically. The following short term training course is being provided for Human Resource Development.

  3. Technology and Application of rice husk gasifier course
  4. Technology and Application of biogas energy course
  5. Technology and Application of hydro power course

Research/Work accomplishment

Renewable energy research department undertakes research and development for Pico Hydro Power, PV Charge controller, Solar Dryer, Solar Cooker, Small Wind Turbines, Wind Pumping, Biogas Digesters and Rise Husk Gasifier.

      1. DRI undertakes research and development for rice husk and other forms of small-scale gasifiers (producing electricity 30 to 50kW).
      2. DRI has been also doing research on expanded use of low cost household biogas digester system in the villages of rural area.
      3. Wind turbine projects are at the experimental and research phase and related output of these wind turbines are from 500W to 3 kilowatts.
      4. For the solar energy technology, Design model and Solutions are contributed for utilization of solar energy to the village people in Myanmar.
      5. Design and construction of induction motor to generator for wind turbine and hydro power generation
      6. Design and construction of hydro concrete turbine (1kW)
      7. Design and construction of Helical savonious wind turbine
      8. Design and construction of efficient cooking stove
      9. Design and fabrication of 1.5 cube meter Fibre type Biogas Digester
      10. Fabrication of 10kW rice husk gasifier to improve Resource Efficient cleaner production system

သုတေသနခေါင်းစဥ် Design of Waste Water Management for Gasification in Myanmar
သုတေသန ရည်ရွယ်ချက် Myanmar has ambitious polity to access 100% electrify all over the country in 2030. Among various electrification technologies, gasification is one of the options for some places which do not have national electrification grid and have abundant rice husk. But traditional plant are generating waste water and causing environmental concern. So this research tries to find solution to solve these problems from gasifier in Myanmar.
အကျိုးကျေးဇူး/ရလဒ် A.Recycled water could be used for about five days without additional water treatment in the pilot 10kW gasifier
B.Treated water can be discharged into environment according to the National Emission Guideline
C.Waste water management design for different gasifiers was achieved from this research.

Human Resource Development Plan

Renewable Energy training course (the short term programme) was scheduled by DRI from November 2014. These training courses are being opened on Saturday and Sunday during the five weeks period. There are five kinds of the training course on RE;

  • Technology and application of Solar  energy
  • Technology and application of Wind energy
  • Technology and application of Micro Hydropower
  • Design and Fabrication of Rice Husk Gasifier
  • Design and Construction of Biogas Digester Plant

 

The Objective of the training courses are-

  • To contribute knowledge, awareness and experience in Renewable Energy Technology and Applications
  • To come out skillful technicians in renewable energy fields
  • To provide in government policy

There are 20 people to attend in each course. The total trainees of these courses are about 538 trainees who had attended in the courses successfully. The summary Training and Awareness Program on Renewable Energy (Solar, Wind, Hydro, Gasifier and Biogas) conducted by DRI are described in Table 1.
