Chemical Technology Research Centre

Chemical Technology Research Centre (CTRC) was established under the Department of  Research and Innovation on 1st April, 2015 according to the new organization structure of the department. The former six departments; Food Research Department, Ceramic Research Department, Metallurgical Research Department, Pharmaceutical Research Department, Applied Chemistry Research Department and Polymer Research Department were reorganized to CTRC comprising the Nanotechnology Research Department, Food Research Department, Pharmaceutical Research Department, Applied Chemistry Research Department and Polymer Research Department. The research areas are focused on  material science and engineering including nanotechnology, composites, polymer technology, food technology, environmental pollution control, water treatment and pharmaceutical technology and applied chemical technology.

“To be a key partner for universities, industries and private sector through chemical research and innovation”

Objectives

(1)     To conduct the research and development to improve national socio-economic requirements and to fulfill the needs of industry

(2)     To nature qualify and highly efficient scientists and researchers for sustainable development of human resources

(3)     To provide advices and services, disseminate development technical information and technology transfer of the research outcome for commercialization

(4)     To promote and boost the momentum of cooperation and coordination among universities-research canter-industries from regional and developed countries.

Technology Transfer

The technology for ” Production of Protein Foaming Agent used in Cellular Lightweight Concrete in Construction” developed by  Applied Chemistry Research Division was transferred to ” Shwe-Pyi-Soe Lightweight Concrete Company ” in 2014 and to ” Myanmar Industrial Valley Co., Ltd ” in 2015.

Food research division co-operated with Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) has contributed the technical distribution to private sectors for dry rice noodle technology on 9th November, 2014 and technical awareness sharing workshop for 30th July 2016 and 18th November, 2016.
